We have provided a WordPress Manual that you can download or you can view as as webpage in Google Docs. It is a live publication so it will continuously improve overtime. Remember to let us know of any mistakes or suggestions and we will make the changes to the document.

  • What is this site about?
  • Project Blogger was setup by the Discover Science & Engineering Programme (DSE). Its has being designed for students and teachers. It is the perfect tool for students to record science projects that they are work on throughout the year. Blogging is a great way for you to keep a journal//diary as you progress on a project over time. It allow you to see your own development as time goes by. back to top
  • Who is this site for?
  • Project Blogger is for both teachers and students. Students can use it as a tool to follow and help their learning. Teachers can facilitate an open learning enviroment and communicate with students as their projects develop. back to top
  • What is a blog?
    • Its a type of website. Generally updated like a diary.
    • Adding new articles is as easy as writing an email.
    • Blogs can have multi-media inserted into them i.e. images, videos, mp3s, etc.
    • Readers are allowed to comment on these articles.
    • Blogs can be public, private or viewed by members only.
    • You can subscribe to a Blog and be notified when it is updated.

  • Why do people blog?
  • Blogging is used by loads of different people and for loads of different reasons. From hobbyists to teachers blogging provides a platform to create a collaborative space for user to discuss their interest and for others to comment. Some examples of why people blog are the following:
    • pastime
    • share experiences
    • make human connections
    • monitor a project
    • the love of writing
    • talk to friends far and wide
    • develop a skill

  • How do I setup a blog?
  • Let your teacher know you need a blog and they will begin setting you up a new account. When this is done you will be sent an email notifying you to activate your new blog on Project Blogger. Make sure to check your Junk Mail folder for your activation mail. back to top

  • I can not login to Project Blogger. What am I doing wrong?
  • Answer for teachers: You login by clicking the Teacher Login button on the homepage, this will bring you to the Teacher Login page
  • When logging in, your username is your full email address and use the password that was being sent to you previously, or if changed by you since then. If this still doesn't work, email: help@projectblogger.ie
  • Answer for students: Log-in in the top-right corner of the Project Blogger homepage. Your username and password will have being sent to you at the same time as activating your account. Remember to check your Junk mail folder. If you are still having problems, contact your teacher/supervisor. back to top
