BT Young Scientist & Technology Project Blog
Considering entering the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition for 2011?
If so, you need to start thinking about your project and how you will organise it.
The BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition is a unique platform for students to showcase their science and technology project work. The exhibition itself is the final stage in the competition which is open to all second level students from Ireland.
So where does Project Blogger fit in?
A key aspect of BT Young Scientist & Technology projects is that you keep a project diary which forms a vital part of your final project. The project diary contains day-to-day records of how the project is going. Both individual and group entries must keep a project diary.
For 2011, BT Young Scientist & Technology recommends that you use the blogging facility on Project Blogger for you or your group to keep your project diary. Using Project Blogger diary provides the following advantages to a paper based diary:
- You are ready to go with your project blog once your teacher has registered you.
- You will get an easy to use BT Young Scientist & Technology theme.
- As well as you thoughts and pictures, you can easily add links to websites you have visited, videos you have viewed, graphs you have created and books that you have looked up.
- You don’t have to worry about recording dates and times, the blog does that for you.
- All of your information is stored in a secure location (no need to worry about losing notebooks etc.)
- If you are lucky enough to make it to the Exhibition next January, you will be able to download your entire blog to print off as part of your journal – no need to retype your diary, it will be done for you.
- Your BT Young Scientist & Technology Project Blog will be private to you, your team members and your teacher.
Also, if you use Project Blogger for your diary along with datalogging/sensors, you will qualify for the special Discover Sensors Award in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2011.
